Hacking is a common term and is an important skill
to pick up. A hacker is basically a computer enthusiast, who enjoys computer
programming, solving different types of issues with computer, getting an idea
about all the details of a particular piece of software and much more. Frankly
speaking, they are someone who achieves unauthorized access to computer
systems, especially with that of some malicious intent. Let me tell you that the
true hackers consider this term as an odious waste of the term and “cracker” is
what they should be called.
Effects
of Computer Hacking: Computer hacking is a falling out of
computer security. Hacking can expose sensitive data and also risk user
privacy. Hacking activities reveal confidential user in
formation like social
security numbers, personal details, bank account number, credit card number and
much more. It is quite obvious that the user information in the hands of hacker
makes it susceptible to illicit use and exploitation.
Apart from that, hackers can also delete all your
important data that you may have stored for some future use. Manipulation of
sensitive data with the intention of achieving personal interest is another
powerful effect of computer hacking. A user whose machine has been hacked is at
the risk of losing all the valuable data stored on the computer.
Types
of Hacker – There are basically eleven types of hackers and
all of them perform different activities. The types of hackers are - White hat,
black hat, Grey hat, Elite hacker, Script kiddie, neophyte, Blue hat,
Hacktivist, Organized criminal gangs, Nation state and Bots.
A white hat hacker
breaks security for the non-malicious reasons and they do so to test their own
security system. A black hat hacker is one who violates computer security for
personal gain or maliciousness. A grey hat is a combination of white hat and
black hat. Elite hacker is the most skilled one. A script kiddie is someone who
does not have any idea about hacking and does so by using automated tools. A
neophyte is also termed as a newbie in this field. A blue hat hacker is used to
bug test a system before its launch. A hacktivist uses technology to announce
social or political.
