Some Basic Guidelines for Designing a Good Website

The appearance or look of a website is considered as the most important facets of your success. Basically, the products or services of your company will be estimated by the look of your website and this is a fact that no one can deny. Bad web design is one of the vital reasons behind the failure of small business. Actually, there are thousands of home-based businesses that are struggling hard to make a living online or create an impact online. Most of them make little or no money and finally end up with closing their site.

That should not happen in your case and that is why I have come up with some basic guidelines that you should follow when designing a professional website.

     1. Make sure that you have made a superb first impression. Make proper use of colors and don’t fill the site with unnecessary stuffs. Create a separate navigation structure and organize the page elements in a grid fashion. The most important part is that your website should be visible to all.

2.Try to keep things on your site fairly consistent from page to page. The site should have a good flow from one page to another.

    3. It is important to use the right images because images play a crucial role in generating traffic to your website. Visitors love visiting a site having impressive images.

     4. The navigation system should be solid enough to support all the available search preferences. Visitors should find out information easily while going through your site.

     5. If you prefer Flash or animations, it is better to move to HTML5, it is the best browser compliant alternative to Flash.

6. The background and text color should be appealing. It is the responsibility of the designer to choose a better background color along with a proper and sober text color.
